Well, if the competition's that fierce, I can stop having my second thoughts about letting all of you know about it! A few more entries really isn't going to make a lot of difference...

I spent some time on the site, reading last year's winner (VERY nice!) and such...1,000 entries last year. The competition's heavy.

BUT, that only means that shortlisting would be quite a feather in the ol' writing cap. You almost HAVE to try, considering that. Good practice for the Bridport next spring!

I've got something I wrote about 16 years ago that I've always liked, so it's getting a lick and a polish up to my current editing standards.
I want to write a couple of new things though, as mentioned in my December pledge, just to prove to myself that I can - it's been years since I wrote any short stories at all although I have ideas for them all the time.

I might think about it myself. I have short stories but I don't know what would be suitable for a competition.

"currently in it's eleventh year" for the love of Pete.

Typos aside, sounds like a good one to try; thanks for the link. I've certainly spent £5 in worse ways!

Anyone else entering?
